Um.. because everyone has questions?
And they believe other people have answers??
So that they can ask more questions about those answers???

Because it would be grammatically incorrect to end a question with an exclamation mark. Isn't that right!

Because nerds suffer from low self esteem. I don't even end my questions with a question mark, and I'm so confident that I could beat up a tank with my face.

I'm so lonely. . .

Because it's called “General Discussion” and it's hard to have a discussion if you don't ask for anyone's opinion. Ayup.

It's a matter of diplomacy and politeness. Plus, if it was just statements of the thread-starter's opinions, it could comes off as a self-centered rant. Even if it doesn't, a statement does not invite discussion.

If, for example, someone posted a topic: “I hate banjos” That's a topic for a narrative, a rant, and doesn't invite conversation (particularly of an opposing view). If instead, the topic is “What do you think of banjos?” the post itself could be identical (a rant on banjos) but the thread title implies that it is open to all opinions and not just one person's statements on a topic.

Oh, and if your topic title was “So many posts end in a question mark,” you wouldn't be inviting replies, just making your own observation. ;)

Is this the GD version of this thread?
I'm not really around much anymore, but here's my Tumblr, Twitter, and Deviantart. Also if you remember me from back when I was around, I'm sorry.

Becuase? Some of use like to end all our sentences in question marks? Don't know why? Some of use just really, really like to do that? Maybe is some kinda of disorder? But it just FEELS right?

People ask questions so they can get answers to the question. This makes them feel worthy.

Or…maybe…maybe thats me….

:( how depressing

They're rhetorical.

Because questions elicit um, discussion…?

And it's a lot more interesting than a forum area filled with topics like these:

I PWND YOU ALL 4EVAH!!!
YOU STINK!!!
ALL UR WBCOMIX R BELONG 2 US!!!

Definitive statements, though lacking in subtlety or intelligence…

or you could have a forum area filled with Yo' Mama jokes…? (well, it's not a question!)

I dunno, just some thoughts…
