what are they doing ??, not sure i think they're at germany right now, preparing for friendly matches against england, netherlands and italy before playing the opening game against south africa, i guess you could tell where i'm from.
funny how my country might be the most passionate country about soccer after brazil and yet have never won a world cup (save for the sub-17 team)

Go Team USA! Go Team-
Ah, screw it. We don't have a chance in hell. We don't even call it the same name as the rest of you. Plus, haven't only five countries won this thing in its entire history? Out of every country in the world that has a team? What's up with that?
I'm actually pretty glad that America doesn't care about this sport. Its riots are a lot scarier-looking than the ones we have.

agreed, tough they kind of vary depending on the country itself, i recall argentina and northern europe having the most destructive fans ever.

Australia is losing early, as usual.
Usually we're screwed over, being forced to qualify with the South American teams first for some bizarre reason…

The World Cup is always a painful experience for England fans. National expectations are always far higher than the squad's real chances of success!
No doubt this year our overpaid superstars will again be affected by the heat, a couple of bad refereeing decisions, last minute injuries, a dodgy meal the night before a crucial match, the heat (again) and a penalty shoot-out in which everyone is unsettled by the fact we've never won one before. Oh, and the fact that the
(ex-)captain is sleeping with all the other players' girlfriends.
At least we have a first class manager this year. If only he could take the pitch instead of the team!

A WW2 fighter pilot, a First Century warrior queen and a prehistoric shaman. Oh, and their tailor. These are not your common-or-garden heroes!

That's pretty the same for Australia. It's also the same for any sport that's not cricket, rugby or AFL.

Considering Canada ain't got no business being in any world cup ever, I'm cheering for Holland.
Maybe we'll win this yea- nah nevermind. Still.

Being ridiculously overpaid, while their even more ridiculous wives and girlfriends have themselves sprayed orange, for reasons I can't begin to understand.

A form of camouflage against colour blind players? Green and orange look very alike to the colour blind.

Ecuador didn't qualify this year, so I guess that I'll be rooting either for England, Germany or Brazil.

Dark PascualIn Australia, “root” is another word for f**k, and so “rooting” means “f**king”.
I'll be rooting
So I've always been childishly amused by its use in American English (I know you're not American). What a novel way to support a team. ^_^
…not that you ever really need an excuse to root anyway…

Then let's just say that I hope that Brazil wins this year…

Looks like another tie for England that doesn't work on their favor and after a ref's bad call against the U.S.A. team that ruined what could have been the greatest come-back in this 2010 world cup, it seems that the Futbol gods are still smiling at the U.S.A. today.
