Your Life Beat

Do you have a song or beat that could be, like, the beat of your life?

For me, I would probably say one of Lupe Fiasco's songs, Hurt Me Soul, although not the lyrics, just the beat.

So what do you think could be one of yours?

I couldn't pick just one… but right now I'm feeling Venetian Snares - GENTLEMAN

You must have one exciting life. I wish this could be my life tune, it's a little like Venetian Snare

I love the irony of the this song. It sounds so upbeat but the guy singing is talking about how miserable his life is. Thus, I could claim it's my song. It's also our number one campfire song to sing around where I live.

P.S. Sorry that I couldn't provide you with an English speaking song.

Ok. So maybe it's not a good life beat since it can only claim relevance to my life if I include the lyrics with the beat. If I think of something else, I'll change it.
Those were my two cents.

I wouldn't say my life was exciting… but perhaps frenetic would be an adequate description at the moment

You can skip to 0:59 or so, as the first minute is basically the vhs intro. The actual song/video is basically as crazy as my brain :D

Oh gawd… This is destined for the media forum methinks.

Anyway, man, “life beat”? Wow… What kind of person could have something as constant as a beat guiding them? That'd never suit me, my life has never run that way.

The closest music for me, off of the top of my head, would be “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin. The reason being that the rhythm and mood of that changes a lot over time: speeding up and climaxing at various points and then slowing down and going along quietly and aimlessly again for a while before working up to another frenetic point…
That describes my life rhythm well.

I always thought if I take up professional wrestlin' (don't laugh; I've actually seriously considered it) then my entrance music would be either “Rebel Girl” by Bikini Kill:

or “F**ked Reality” by Choking Victim:

Does that count?

I can actually picture that. That music is like the soundtrack to a mental video. O_O
It's awesome.

The second has good music, but the vocals not so much… reminds me of a comic with great art and annoying writing. :(

If I was o go by what rhythm I'd like my life to be: “Simply irresistible” by Robert Palmer.
It has a constant driving force… and a neatly dressed fellow screaming away surrounded by ridiculously perfect beauties (that's visual rather than audio, but you can't ignore it).
I could WISH my life stayed at a constant high like that.

Aw, but the obnoxious vocals are the charm. ;)

There are some pretty cool songs here (=
I thought the majority of Drunk Duck was heavy metal slasher stuff, which, IMO, sucks (no offense), But I guess the life beat may not be the same as favourite songs.

Oh gawd… This is destined for the media forum methinks.

Well I thought about that, but it isn't really a discussion about songs, but what people's current situations are like, summed up by songs.

that “simply irresistable” video is so disturbing. that disjointed dancing… *shudders* SEXAY ZOMBIE LADIES!!!

hm, I've recently killed all my favorite songs by over-listening to them, so this is hard. I like to fool myself when listening to Patrick Wolf's “Tristan” that he's saying “Kristen”, but the lyrics are far too exciting to describe my humdrum life. Oh, you know what's always been a bit of a theme song for me? “Here I Go Again On My Own” by whitesnake.

But here's the perfect song for me sound-wise, nice and calm and pretty. Ignore the beach video, idk what that's about.

I've always preferred the Piero Umiliani original. But the Muppets do look good doing it.

That's my wife's life beat. She loves that song. There was also a Seseame Street version of it and it appeared on SNL when the Muppets were part of the show.

maby this is his theme song then. yeah monk, this is yer theme song,if you ever read this.

so that was yer house, Aurora?kinda dug that beat a little bit actually.
ya ever catch any Alice Cooper shows? watched the Years ago/Steven video for the first time the other day and i thought ya might appreciate it the way i did. spandex aside, of corse. it's gotta guest apperance by Vincent Price and Alice Cooper's performce with this weird child like voice and this mirror, and his body motion with it. like it's just him, no fancy effects, but it's one of the most chilling things i think i've seen. anyways, thought ya might be interested in it,if ya ever wanna check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixyFvAEERvA

Hmmm, well I'm still thinking about this one, but I think that when I get super rich and make a room based on my mind, I will have Magical Mystery Tour(the album) playing on repeat in it.

This was a very nice question to ask people and this one took me some thought. I believe that the song “It's Natural to be Afraid” by Explosions in the Sky. This song is like my life story until now. I couldn't put it better myself.
Part 1 of 2 (The song's about 13 minutes long)

Part 2 of 2 (The climax and the resolving action)

If you have the patience to listen to it in its entirety, you will not regret it.

man, what an appropriate song for someone named ‘hippie van’… that or the Who's “Magic Bus”

(that song freaks me out because 48 seconds in is a Paul Is Dead thingy… according to the internets. Not that I think Paul is dead, au contraire! I just think the whole Paul Is Dead thing is needlessly terrifying. If I think about it before bed, I get too spooked to sleep…)

Wait, that doesn't make sense. Why would The Who put a Paul is dead thing in their song?

as for me, this song (if you can call it one) pretty much matches my life's repetitive tone.
