powers combined, Captain Planet" -end of thread title

So we all know DrunkDuck is based in LA. But where is the rest of our fictional universe based? We have a lot of sidestories taking place in LA. But I know others are taking place elsewhere (like Gotham…but not).
So where's everyone hailing from? What part of the globe? And we have to all meet up eventually for an epic battle. Where will that meeting place be?

I'm interested in seeing if someone can design an ALTERNATE REALITY CITY for part of this civil war to take place in. Create a continent, a city, a planet, a philosophy. I wanna see it.

I also wanna see the first half of the TMNT movie that I missed while I was fixing my car, but I figure it's either one or the other.

We all must fight…on the rooftops of Paraguay.

Wherever that is.

I can't draw background fer nuthin, but I'll level with you. I know what every comic book city needs. Here's an outline of everything I think makes a good city.



1. An asylum or a prison.
2. A city hall.
3. A graveyard with at least 1 angel statue and 1 cross for dramatic covers and splash panels.
4. A hospital for grity heroes to reluctantly recover in while contemplating how they were injured.
5. A clocktower or other historic landmark that towers above everything else. It has to have gargoyles for heroes to perch next to and look cool.
6. Something in permanent contruction for heroes to fight in that “hangs open like a rotting wound”.
7. An office building or HQ for some CEO that has a large glass face to break through durring aerial battles.
8. A radio or TV station with some kind of antenna or globe at the top. Or both.
9. A spooky house and/or cave that actually leads into some kinda underground lair.
10. Love.

I'm in Columbia South Carolina although Hero's story is probably centered in my fictional city of Little Tokyo NY.

I've been protecting the not so mean streets of the coolest college town in pennsylvania.

As far as a combined universe goes, I've actually been giving that some thought already. I was actually wonder if anyone would want to maintain said universe and keep everything going in some form after the war is over, maybe starting up a new story line all together…. but that's neither here nor there.

Lucky me is in San Diego! (PS: Does Drunk Duck ever put in an appearance at Comic Con San Diego? Just curious if I could stop by and see you there.)

I agree that a universal city would be a good idea, perhaps the one where the big head floats as that's where the registration proclaimation came from, so everyone kinda has to congregate there eventually, right?

Oh, and Hero, one other thing every city needs, a park or wooded area where sneaky type folks can creep around in secret while ninja fighting each other and nature folks can hold thier meet and greets. (Though I suppose a perpetually under construction building would have plenty of hidey places and open areas for sneaky sneaky folks too.)

Zac: Do you want like a generic drawn image that can be used as a universal background image, or something more deatiled, like poulation demographics and specific locations?

I also think it needs at least one church- perfurably two, one manned and one abandoned for runaways to sleep in and fights to occur in.

As for the city de la epic battle, there’s gotta be catacombs. Absolutely. And an abandoned carnival.

I agree,we need an abandonded carnvial.With a merry-go-round of animals,being worn by time,have come to look like semi-gothic Tim Burton-esque monsters. :3 Also,accroding to Batman,we need our carnival to be on the pier.

Oh,and we need a comic convention to trash.

Glarg hails from space! But he is uh currently trapped in the Roswell New Mexico desert…he's on his way to L.A though!

As for the epic battle…..Antarctica, Perfect place, snow is easy to draw, sky is gloomy, it has an eerie effect that just makes it look cool! Zero temperatures, very desolate from civilization…Wide open spaces for an army battle, enough room to draw ALL of the characters…Antarctica Baby, Antarctica.

Greenbot was made in a scientific research facility in the deserts of Arizona. Also then he worked in a coffee shop in San Diego but then he was locked and shut down in an abandoned factory in New York City.

I think the battles themselves should take place everywhere. Like those fighting games (read Street Fighter, Soul Caliber, Mortal Kombat) Whatever dimensional plane or place your characters chose. That would be cool.

I don't like to say where I live, but I'm fine with wherever it is that we “fight.” :)
I've got five of the eight pages done for my civil war event, and all of the backgrounds vaguely portray a cramped New-York-esque city.
