Abt_Nihil will be handling the story/script to HU3 and here is where you can post your ideas, suggestions and if you would like to see your character appear.

I will be able to supply some artwork between 3-5 pages, depending what you need and no Energize this time but if you wish to use one of my characters I would like to put forward Titan (from Salvation)

First off: thanks to Nepath for giving me this opportunity!

HU3 will be a self-contained story, but I'd like to include more heroes than in the previous two chapters, if only for cameos. Think of the JLU episode “The Return”.

The basic plot will revolve around an old US military satellite targeted for destruction (based on recent news reports). However, its damaged self-preservation protocols cause it to attack the US in self-defense, wreaking havoc on earth (via hacking military networks) and in the sky (via its missile repository). So our core team of heroes will be made up of flying powerhouses able to intercept missiles, one or more battle groups on the ground (including hackers and/or some heroes with electronic/cybernetic powers) and someone to coordinate missions with HU command.

All events will be told from the heroes' perspective, which should give me some opportunities to include characters which don't fit the requirements above.

In this thread you can post suggestions concerning story details, as well as anything else that doesn't fit into the other threads - especially if and (roughly) how many pages you're interested in drawing and/or coloring (of course an artist's actual page count will depend on how many of you are interested in supplying artwork; the total page count should be around 25).


To start the discussion, here's my personal suggestion of scenes:

- Opening scene which shows the satellite's attempted destruction via missile fired from any sort of military base. The satellite (from now on referred to as EGO) deflects the missile and destroys the base. This scene includes heroes on patrol witnessing the situation.
- The ministry of defense asks HU command for help; EGO overhears this communication and prepares for an ambush against HU.
- EGO attacks a group of heroes using the military network; this may include common military items as well as robots hacked into and controlled by EGO. A red herring may involve one cybernetic villain (who is yet to be proposed) whom HU command suspects of controlling EGO. Note that the military is most likely not aware of EGO's damaged self-defense protocol and should consider an enemy hacker behind this. This may be developed further, depending on how many pages I can allocate to this scene.
- Battle in the sky against EGO's weaponry while HU command tries - and finally succeeds - to hack EGO (there's a little detail here that I will insist on, but I won't tell yet).
- The last hero standing (or: flying) from the battle in the sky scene confronts EGO in orbit. Aside from the hero involved this scene is not open for discussion, only for detail suggestions.

I would like to do the artwork this time, though I would like someone to do the coloring for me, as I suck at that.
Also, if I do any art in this, I would liek three pages or something like that.

Oh yeah, I'd like to do 3 to 5 pages of artwork. I can provide colors too but if there's anyone good at cell shading that would want to color my lines I wouldn't argue : P.

and I'd like to have one of my characters have a role bigger than a cameo (because crossovers are good advertising!) but I can't think of a big role for any of them to play so…eh.

I do have the same problem with Bombshell actually; she's more of an urban vigilante, but this is not an urban story. I'll probably have her show up at HU command or the Un though.

Let's see if we can come up with something for your characters… for now I'll keep them in the back of my head.

id be down to pencil again guys as well as do some promos and ill try to see i i can come up with some characters for you guys to use *edit* i do have one team that springs to mind but theyre like a mercanary ninja type of group

I'm not sure if we're still on, or if Nepath changed his mind…but is Relik still lined up to be in HU3? Also, if so, I can't add any art and I can't speak for Dan (although I will ask him), but Abt - if you're willing - I'd be perfectly happy to lend an assisting hand in the scriptwriting/story department.

Symplesimon did show a VERY early interest in having Relic in HU3. So I would like to honour that and have RELIC appear in the comic.

Before I sign up to do duty with the art I want to see how I do on the pages for HU2 and how people respond. But I would be interested to help artisitically again if everything pans out…

And as for previously discussed points, nothing more than the fact that as Relik looks evil, there was an idea to have some of the other heroes wary of him - or was that the Relik-Energize x-over idea, ‘Path?

What Hero says goes the same for me…

Ok, I've been thinking about my characters' places in the storyline and of course Comet Kid, having worked with HU before and being the flying powerhouse of Young Gaurd is in a good position to help coordinate the flying group against EGO's weaponry. Comet Kid however is not the kind of person to want that kind of responsibility which can provide an interesting angle.

Tech, being named after his affinity and skill with technology could definitely be of assistance when it comes to hacking. Also, I could totally see him butting heads with Acrobat considering that Acrobat reminds him of a less bitter version of himself and appears to be a rookie while he views himself as a veteran, especially if Acrobat was placed in a position of power over Tech.

Roxy would be likely to end up hanging out with and annoying Tech considering that she doesn't fly. In the case that she doesn't, without the guidance of her teammates Roxy would be best preoccupied with menial tasks made to seem important like delivering equipment or messages back and forth to keep her from messing any of the delicate stuff, at least until her specific talents were needed.

And, about the cybernetic villain you planned to use as a red herring, I had some designs for a villain, Motherboard, who had the ability to control electronics. If you're interested, I could dig them up again.

Just as i think Fearless / would work nice.

I think pairing Titan with Comet Kid would be cool.

Hero: Yup, I'd be interested in your designs for Motherboard.

I think we'll do it like on HU#1: make a list of who'd like to draw it and then let everybody participating on the comic vote for whoever they think should do the cover.

Abt, sorry I've been gone for so long after promising you writing aid, but things haven't been all that peachy. Should be okay now, or at least for the time being…do you still want any help?
