I wonder where this is going. The recruiting reminds me of Thoregon (you even use silver spheres), but I'd prefer if the protagonists' actions are more based on their respective character than on the plan of the recruiter.

The recruiter should only hope that none of the chosen recruits have seen any of the Phantasm movies lest they instead run away screaming.

Point. (Although in Dead Debbie's case, what MORE could the PHANTASM spheres do? She's DEAD.)
