El cid didn't specifically request a review, rather just said he thought it too pornlike and unreviewable. Well we gave it a shot.

Visually it's quite lazy, the review not death porn. The views of my characters were deliberately critical as El cid has helped with this project I didn't want to just give him a pat on the ass.

So to anyone who doesn't already know I read death porn and enjoy it.

Over to you.

You sneaky bastid! Seeing my comic up on the chopping block almost gave me a heart attack. You damn near killed Death P*rn!

I didn't want a review for several reasons, but mainly because I'm already painfully aware of my comic's flaws, and didn't want to put someone through the ordeal of having to read my obscenely bloated archive just to drudge them back up for me. Trust me, I'm my own worst critic so I'm already constantly beating myself over the head about the high word count and schizophrenic layouts. Mostly that stuff happens because I'm rushing to move the comic along and feel the need to cram too much stuff into each panel. And there were a lot of problems you guys didn't even get into, but I guess there's only so much space for a reasonably-sized review.

Also, just to give some background on the project: Death P*rn started out as a “shock” project I was posting at a very small “Xtreme Art” forum. The first eight pages were meant to be a short standalone comic to freak people out, much like my Big Fish Story comic which preceded it. But because so many people wanted to see more of the characters, I brought back the crooked cops and brought in characters from previous comics I'd worked on (Carmen, Angie, Darren, Shannon) and weeded them into an unresolved storyline from another short comic I did a LONG time ago. From there, I just sort of sloppily “found” a story in it as I went along, and slapped it all together into something coherent, the comic we now know as "Death P*rn."

Hope you don't mind too much.

I was in two minds about doing it to be fair. I had to be extra critical as while it does have flaws they are pretty minor in the scale of things.

I bet most of the bad stuff said about it is down to the nature of the content rather than the quality of the execution.

Most people complain that the comic is too pornographic or too violent and question why any sane person would waste his time creating such a thing.

I think that last question sort of answers itself though! :)

Why would any sane person watch or make mama mia is beyond me. that's way more offensive than deathporn.
