Here's an idea I just drafted that may suit your art? The frames and layout I leave up to you. The ‘fish’ can be anything you like, and the text blocks can be many to a frame or one to frame depending on how you want to do it.
Gone Fishing
He was awake before dawn, as usual.
Red sky … but as he was poor it was a warning he couldn't afford to heed.
The hill sloped down to the water, and so did he.
The lake looked still and empty, and so did he.
The pole bent and creaked, and so did he.
He exhaled on the hook …
… and with baited breath he waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And then all hell broke loose.
The fish fought furiously, and so did he.
The fish gasped for air, and so did he.
The fish was eventually landed …
… as so was he.
“Arise, Sir Fisherman, Vanquisher of the Beast of the Lake.”
(The final frame shows a king or queen knighting the fisherman in a royal ceremony.)

I guess that didn't go down too well then. Oh, well.
