Back in the day, Deviant Art used to have tournaments that would use original characters who battled it out for supremacy until one won the whole thing and won a prize, all withing the confounds of an overarching Story.
The Best Example being Law of Telos, Which was drawn in comic form (Also in this case Animated by the Very Talented Zeurel for the fights involving Karl.)
I Would like to propose to you All the idea of a Collaborative Comic…….The Drunk Duck World Tournament.

A neat idea. will take some organising, but could be very cool. You might need to get pimping away as this forum is pretty quiet atm

But it would take quite few people, and many characters from the Various comics on Drunk Duck.
But if it could be done, it would perhaps the greadest Cooperative Project on all of Drunk Duck.

it's not technically alive, but nor is it dead.
we need a large group of people for this to work, hence why i placed it in Community Projects.

I would love to contribute as a writer for this!

I had also been thinking of doing something a little like this. Inspired by Death Battle, I figured it would be nifty to do a comic where people submit their characters (and stats and such), where then they are matched against another, with the stats (and whatnot) are analyzed and a winner is decided from them, and that's when the comic is made around that outcome (using all the characters' assets allowed to bring to the fight–again, inspired by Death Battle here). I've never gotten around to it because, for one, that's quite a project to put together and, for another, I'm kind of distracted by many things.

after that we'd need to start handing out assignments and organizing.

alright, that sounds like it would work. Now for the plot that brings them all together, including the being responible and what the prize for winning is.

It is a good start, pretty standard. As long as it doesn't narrow too far down into one paticular genre (to allow openess) something like that should be fine.

still needs to be worked out why they all start fighting though.
I suppose the entity responsible for the tower makes it so only one can have it, and makes them all fight.

Either that or the plot line for Mortal Kombat. People from all over the universe(s) recieve an invitation for a chance to win the ultimate prize.

Or if you go with the tower thing, what if it just starts off like it is, a climb to the top, so the characters start fighting to beat their oppenents to the finish line. Either work really.

maybe, but you got at least 2 original characters you could use.

So, are there any rules about particpating chareracters (related the genre, number from a single artist, etc.)

And would you even need a coloring person? (if not I would like to think I do a passable job as a sounding board)

I think Niccea hit the nail on the head were going to need the rules sorted out soon as posible or else it will start looking like no one is seroues about this getting this started.

First we should decide on the Number of Characters who shal Participating.
An Even Number Obviously.

For the sake Fairness, let us restrict it to Original Characters, like i said to the Writer My Parents are nobodies, while most of his characters wouldn't work, he DOES have 2 original Character, such as Ballow.

As for who will win each round, i think we should have that be decided between multiple people, cause let's face it, the Character's Creator is obviously gonna want their Character to win. This Should be decided not over Which character they would prefer, but who they think makes the most sense to win either Narritively or otherwise.

That being said, if anyone else has any suggestions or better ideas, Go ahead and post them.

Either that or readers can vote during the pages on who should win the award. (I've seen that before) or predetermined narrative selection as you already stated Kou, both would work out pretty well.

i guess voting would be good (would give the writers and artists some down time while we wait for the votes.)
I suppose we should start compiling the Characters who will be participating in said Tournament (as well as the Person/Creature/Entity/Eldritch Horror Responsible for Dragging the various characters from their various dimensions/worlds and getting them to fight.)

For Those who are interested in having their characters in the Tournament, List the Character and which comic they are from (or if they aren't in one, either link a picture and description of said character or describe them.)
