There's clearly a fair amount of communication and coordination that goes on ‘behind the scenes’ in HA with regard to things like suggesting/proposing scripts, figuring out which characters are available for a given story, etc. etc.
How is this organised? Is there a mailing list or an IRC channel or IMs or something? And how does one get involved in that side of things?

Nope nope. It's all done via the forums and occasionally via PQs. Some drafts are sent to me via e-mail, but usually they've been talked about on the forums before.
