I have been looking into making some mini comics , I have all the equipment and materials , and have been researching how to get them distributed etc. I was wondering if anyone else was interested in making their web comic available as a mini , or creating new material for a mini comic ?

I go to two annual events in my home town where I sell mini-comics made from by own webcomics. I have also started trying to sell comics for other people, but postage to my part of the world is a little expensive … for example, the latest anthology I am on-selling on behalf on an American friend cost me only $US 2.10 an issue, but $US 22.50 to post just four copies out to New Zealand. I would happily try and sell other people's comics here, but can't imagine it would be feasible because of the postage. Vice versa with sending things out of NZ.

What I was kind of thinking about was having everyone PDF me their comic and I would print them and send them out from there.
I have a large format archival printer collecting dust in my office (at home) so I started looking into mini comics ,(really I can print up to magazine sizes) and everyone says that a group with multiple offerings tends to do better than a solo person so I thought what better group than people from here

It's a comic, but it's small. (Seriously.) Often both in terms of page count and page size. Cheap to make.
Here's some examples. The Cookbook is ‘regular sized’ (what we call A4 in my part of the world), and the others are ‘mini’ A5 comics.

A news post would be awesome ! I guess we need to figure out the specifics like a size that will work for everyone's comics and some sort of name . I can make books up to 8.5 x 11 as I can print on paper up to 11 x 17 but it gets cheaper by a long shot if we go down to a 5.5 x 8.5 size that is in inches

I have a lot of ideas about this, we could put together a comic with something from everyone and I could make a bunch to give out for free , I would be willing to send out some boxes to people to give out (even if I had to ship some overseas ) and then maybe set up a site for people to order some or something . Also I could put a plug in there for the Duck and links for everyone's comics - just ideas…

this sounds great! I've been wanting to make a physical book, but I've only made 65 strips so far, so I haven't had the content yet, but a Mini comic would definitely be doable! I can cobble something together in whatever size. My stuff tends to work better in a landscape format though. is that possible?

Mine is all done in landscape as well , I can make any size up to 11 x 17 so a landscape book is definitely doable. For that I was thinking either 5.5 inches high by 8.5 wide or 4.25 high by 5.5 wide. The latter being extremely cheap to make (as long as the print is large enough to read at that reduction)

above is a pic of what i am looking at the large horse book in back is one we printed for my daughter for a school project - it has been hanging on the fridge for over a year and no fade at all!
i put a regular comic in for ref. the small white page on top of the comic is a 4.25 x 5.5 the larger one on the left is 5.5 x 8.5 , the horse book is full magazine size 8.25 x 11
