Tinas Story and Grey Muzzle

I recently noticed that Tinas Story (DD doesn’t allow ‘ in titles) was missing from DD and did a web search. It’s also been deleted from Inkbunny. The writer, Grey Muzzle (sometimes Greymuzzle) also seems to have taken down some, but not all, profiles on sites relating to themselves and the comic. There are, of course, hundreds of pages of it still out there on the web, because any porn comic ever is copied and reposted somewhere on the web, and there’s still a Patreon page for the comic, but I’m not sure it that’s now updating (if anyone is a subscriber to the Tinas Story Patreon could they let us know if it’s still active?)

My web search also dug up an old article, from early 2018, about the comic.

https://medium.com/@isaacforn/councilman-gray-muzzle-42fd2285401f

A quick summary: It seems the writer was a Connecticut Councilman who resigned in Sept 2017 after his Furry predilections (which he never really hid) became public. In particular much press was made of his SoFurry profile page which had the note that he “tolerated” rape. This seems to be in connection with what fiction and role-playing fantasies he was open to, not in anyway shape or form anything to do with the actual practice. At face value this is a damning thing to have in a profile, but as the article notes, Games of Thrones fans “tolerate” rape in their fandom. Heck, I’ve just been reading a bunch of Greek Myth recently, so what does that say about me? I’ve also read Shakespeare. And the Bible.

Anyway, it’s an interesting, but rather sad, bit of history in which DD is slightly involved. It also seemed related to the various discussions and Quackcast on the Gina Carano firing.

Just for the record, I always found Tinas Story to have a naive sweetness that was a rather interesting contrast to the (sometimes extreme) porn elements of the comic. I did a music theme for it many moons ago and got some nice feedback from the creators. It was an interesting piece of collaboration (the writer had commissioned the artist) that had its highs and lows, and I’m sorry to see it disappear from DD. I hope the reasons for its deletion are mundane.

It's rather shocking how his online profile stuff was twisted into a damning indictment of his character. :(

According to the series writer Zenia somebody on Furaffinity was made a false report to the police for child porn, and in Canada even having costumes even if the person is an adult can count as “child Porn” in Canada.

THe story is here https://inkbunny.net/j/418259

Thanks, Furwerk studio, for posting that. Good grief. (Well, actually very bad grief).

I didn't read Tina's Story through and through. But from what I did read from it, it seemed like an okay and perfectly legal erotic comic with some pretty solid emotional drama to me.

This kind of thing just drives me up the wall with anger and its one of the main reasons why I don't put my comics up anywhere else but on the sites that I do now. And to think that FurAffinity of all places would have this sort of thing happen.

It really makes me ask myself what the hell the world is coming to:(

You are welcome, Gunwallace.

It is sad, messed up and caused a lot of artists like me and a few I know to become so scared that we considered just quitting, some even went as far as delete their own accounts across the net to protect themselves too.

What's worse, is this guy actually pulled this before on other artists on furaffinity before and gotten them arrested, banned or worse.

And it is all because he wants free artwork.

There is apparently a law in Canada that if an adult dresses in “kid” related costumes like school girl and have pigtails in porn it counts as Child Porn no matter the age of the actors, it is like how many countries won't allow flat chested women act in porn for fear it would cause “immoral impulses”.

Wow, I remember browsing a couple of pages of Tina's Story. It looks like the author resigned in 2017, so it appears the take-down of Tina's Story may be recent?

Politicians have done way worse things than being a furry (like, I dunno…wearing blackface >:( ). It's good that he takes some pride in what he likes and was not ashamed of his interests, even if they are outside the normal realm of hobbies. I'm not keen that he admitted he was was not averse to seeing rape images, but again…there are politicians who are, well…accused of ACTUAL rape, so…). If the porn history of every politician was exposed, I am sure there would be worse things…

Outside the furry-dom, he seems like such a “normal” guy. Yes, there are sexual aspects of the fandom, but pretty much everything is sexualized these days. :p

Imagine if books were sorted by tags like online posts (on sites like Furaffinity) are? Clicking the box marked ‘no rape’ or whatever it would be would stop you being able to read The Bible, Greek Myth (heck, most myth), Clan of the Cave Bear, Lace, Fifty Shades of Grey (if it was honestly categorized), Game of Thrones, and a host of other very mainstream books. If TV shows were done the same way almost all crime shows would be ruled out (SVU, Criminal Minds, etc.), and if films were added, well, good luck trying to watch European cinema. ‘Rape tolerant’ in the mainstream is (unfortunately) a standard theme/meme of whole sections of fiction. We just don't tick a box when choosing our TV shows or potboiler fiction.

From what I understand, but don't take it as solid fact but more of a second from another victim, the snowball was started by a person from Furaffinty known for causing grief, filing false claims with mods and the law and basically swats people because they want free art and gets upset when a paywall is erected by the artists.
