I joined this site on this account only today but on my profile it says I joined on the 10th of this month.

I’m guessing the join date system is a little broken but that is my guess.

read the date again, it's correct the date format is american.

The one on the user page may be off by a few days, but the date under your avatar when you post on the forums is correct. Odd little glitch. On my profile it says I joined New Years Day when in fact it wasn't until the 21st of January. One would think both would be accessing the same information.
At least it's not day 00 like my driver's license used to have.

Yeah, that is what I mean.

It writes out the month and the number after that also marks the month.

I didn't know that, but I seem to remember something about join dates being inaccurate…

EDIT: 14 days difference with me. The year is correct. The month probably too, but of course I can't really remember. It's too long ago.

I remember there was something in connection with the site crash in 2011 when some data got lost, the backups covering most stuff but not all of it, so some dates got accidentally reset.
And now my memory is coming back (I think): for a time everyone had a join date in 2011, but that got fixed to displaying the actual date again. Or something like that anyway. I might confuse it with something else.

But anyway: could it be that the process of fixing this has something to do with it? Some kind of lasting after-effect?

I joined DD during Spring Break 2007 between the Winter and Spring Quarters. There are accurate (non-DD related) calendar dates that I can compare the actual date of joining.

This is the reason.
That number listed on your profile page is just the number of the month that's also listed next to it… i.e. “January 01, 2004” for me. In there the “01” just refers to January, not the 1st of January.
It can also be “November 11, 2017”, “October 10, 2023” etc.

It's a stupid bug that could be fixed very easily. But there are other priorities XD
