So much of the old internet is already gone. Think Smackjeeves, keenspace, geocities, angelfire, not to mention all the independent websites people made by themselves that are now 404. The internet is dying and that's why we need to keep the Duck alive for future generations to see what cool shit we did before the abomination that is ai.

So very true.
The net is slowly turning into a generic babyfood centre.
It's increasingly controlled by only a few mega-corps and now even creativity is being faked with AI bullshit.
From an amazing sea of creation and endless possibility Google and Apple have limited things down to ads, aps, and social media where THEY decide what you see.

Pretty much why I came back to DD and wanted to help out with the Anthology so much. DD was a big part of my teen years and my early development as an illustrator, I don’t just want this place to survive, I want it to thrive again!

Keenspace is still around, as a matter of fact, my friend's webcomic was my first introduction to such almost 20 years ago, and the archive is still up:
http://idget.keenspace.com/
To be fair though, Keenspace isn't necessarily conducive to actually updating and maintain webcomics anymore, but it still exists.

True that! We are sitting here on a rock with a beacon in the middle of an increasingly heavy sea. It's a bit as if time has frozen on our storm-tossed island. And that's exactly why I love this spot!

I like the idea that we're the Gaulish Village of the internet.

Does that make Ozone Asterix?
But probably the clueless chief being carried on his shield everywhere to show off 😅
