I don't feel Christmassy and I don't think I know what that feeling is any more or was…I see people struggling and trying and its cold and dark and not merry and bright… and so I understand hogfather/death that sees the dark unfairness of it and is grim and un merryness but he tries to be those things….. because humans need to believe in untrue things.. things that can not be held in ones hand so that they might make those things true.. things like hogfathers and bigger ones like love and justice and mercy.. because humans need the unreal to be human.
Happy (longer than unusall) Hogs Watch! We had clouds here for three days and nights, so we couldn't see the sun. There some lighter clouds; and at times there was a slow moving white ball behind the clouds, that some said might just be the headlight of an oncoming train getting closer each day. But today the clouds were gone and the sun came up and went across the sky, so happy HOGS WATCH for another year.
Christmas is supposed to be about love and generosity towards your fellow human beings. People just think it's for the kids because it's been commercialized into an excuse to buy presents (nearly a quarter of retail sales happens between Thanksgiving and Christmas).

working retail has made it really hard to not hate the holidays. Have to put up with people at their worst. It's not all bad, but agree, it's become one more chore to be done.

Christmas spirit is hard to get into that. it helps when there are kids. but it has been more and more of a duty than it is fun.

Christmas is mostly for the kids. If you can scrape up some fragments of holiday cheer as an adult, that's about the best that can be done.
