Most people love fairy tales, and Hans Christian Andersen wrote many of the best-known stories… including The Snow Queen! It's a tale of good and evil, innocence and growing up, and a little girl who will do anything to save her friend. Kay has been led astray by a speck of the devil's mirror in his eye, and is taken away by the Snow Queen to live forever in her castle. The town thinks he is dead, but Gerda believes otherwise and goes on an adventure to bring him back, getting help from flowers, animals, and princesses. Charming and colorful art suits this deceptively complex tale. I particularly like the spooky Snow Queen herself!
