2012 Radio Play call for scripts! Blue Strawberry and Silver Vein milestones! QUACKCAST 61!

If you're hearing trumpets, it's because the Czarina (of the Radio Play) has an announcement for you! Or possibly you are just in a jazz club. But the Czarina still has something she wants you to know!

Submissions for Radio Play 2012 scripts is OPEN! ayesinback means Serious Business, and although it's only day 2, she has already resorted to “tactics” to encourage submissions.

Hang on, getting ahead of myself- you remember the 2011 Radio Play, right? That great community project that was super fun and resulted in an amazing bit of audio entertainment? By all accounts, a great success- and I think we'd all like to see if we can top ourselves this year!

OK, back to the call for submissions! There are only a couple of very sensible “musts” and a couple of other guidelines- but look, you guys write comics, right? This isn't so different! There's lots of talented folks on DD and here's your chance to have something you wrote be produced into a lovely radio play. Of course ayesinback (like a true czarina) would like to have the best of the best, so there is a panel of judges this year, because we DEMAND a bit of competition! (That means we want lots of scripts!)

You have until Feb. 24th, but honestly if you're going to wait that long then you'd better get comfortable with the idea that ayesinback will have already broken your legs to convince you to submit something. Or she'll have sent some of her goons, she has goons you know.

The featured comic Blue Strawberry by Eduds has reached 125 strips! Celebration!

Altara's Silver Vein has reached 50 pages! Congrats Altara!

And you really should listen to this week's Quackcast!!!!!
LISTEN!

It's a rather dry Quackcast this week I'm afraid as I tackle a subject that has been very much in the news lately and a hot topic all over the net- and that is all the various proposed laws and trade agreements covering copyright, intellectual property and how they can possibly affect webcomics, webcomic hosting and online creative communities in general. My take on these things is a bit individual and editorial so I'm sorry for that, but I did do a modicum of research beforehand so it's not all opinion! We also have the 5th installant of our ongoing DD comedy soap with great voice acting by many clever people and once again featuring the brilliant editing skills of Banes. There's even some clever digs at copyright and IP!

I'm still not writing a script.

I am told that the Finnish look quite dapper in their cordoroys. Hold on! Just where IS that script about fascist Finnish fashion wear? Not in My Hands! (yet . . . )

Cool to want some competition (though the script last year was quite good!). I remember ayes' thugs came after me a couple months back to "suggest" I begin dressing better. Folks, two broken fingers was all it took to get me out to grab a new pair of shoes and some nice green corderoy slacks! I feel better (other than my poor digits) and my cords are getting laughs (of appreciation, I assume) all over town!
