I was searching for an appropriate image to post for the newspost a few weeks back, but was met with a dilemma. Even though the Internet holds a vast collection of images to draw from, copyrights and intellectual property rights of original characters should be respected. The majority of images used for newsposts are of original art, and it would be awesome to keep it that way.
Since this is a community of people who create art on a regular basis, with original characters, I would like to invite all users for original contributions to expand the stock image database.
Ozoneocean adds, these can be images “that we add our own text to, on the condition that we mention and link to them when we use it. They could be custom drawn pics or scenes from their comic pages, as long as they're square.”
Additionally, appropriate sizing for newspost images are usually 395 pixels wide, heights can vary, but anything less that that would result in resolution issues.

Why square? Where are you planning on posting them up? Are they avatars? News feeds? It would help to know what we are making. Holidays or something for comic awards? Can we use our own characters or do we have to use a duck like theme? Mile stones images for the general public a good one? Just wanted to know what you are looking for.

Yes, if people submit their names we can use that as an art pool :) We can't really tell people in advance what type of art is needed... but it would be marvellous if people could let us have access to a general pool- just draw pics of anything, keep it square, and we can size it ourselves and promote the artist when we use the pic! :)

I think this is a fantastic idea, it doesn't make sense to use images from elsewhere when we are an artist community that mostly do this for fun. It would be cool to have an idea of what is needed too. In addition, there could be a list artists submit their comic to that any image of them can be grabbed for a newspost.

This is an amazing idea, kawaii! It can be really hard to find a suitable image when I don't have the time or resources to create my own.
