Hello Ducks! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Last week was filled with big holidays like Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday/Carnival, Ash Wednesday, the Lunar New Year (Gung Hay Fat Choy!) it is now the year of the Ram! I think I spent Sunday watching the Oscars in the background while taking care of other miscellaneous business like preparing for this news-post. Actually, the most interesting thing that happened tonight was that there was a quotation on the label of my tea that had a simple message:

"Say it straight, simple and with a smile"

There are few truer words than these, and I thought it would be nice to pass it along to everyone for a calm start of the week.

In other news, I would like to make a small teaser announcement for a Drunk Duck Fashion Show that is currently in the preliminary planning stages for anyone here who loves designing clothes or would love to have your original character model clothing designs created by other artists on the site. If you love New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, or any type of couture show that involves catwalks, runways, models, and the current style trends, then stay tuned for this project. The ideas for this awesome project are still being drafted out, so expect to get a more in-depth announcement in the upcoming weeks.

MILESTONES

LORE

Lore by Genejoke hits its 100th page milestone today as the third chapter kicks into gear as Elonii close in on them. They meet new faces who could be either salvation or ruin.

USED BOOKS

There are multiple milestones to announce today for Used Books. Today marks the 8th anniversary of Used Books by usedbooks on Drunk Duck. usedbooks has just returned from vacation and a short hiatus before revving up the story of Used Books once again. On top of that, Used Books just posted its 1200th page! She should get a standing ovation for reaching that impressive four-digit number.

I'm not really good with fashion… so I should give it a try… comic pages… I don't know how you do it… I guess one page at a time…

Ironscarf at 8:30AM, Feb. 24, 2015

Unless you have kids - then you can have hardly any pages and no social life either!

usedbooks at 2:06PM, Feb. 23, 2015

Comic length is inversely proportional to the amount of social life a person has.

First of all Gunwallace, Miss Princess January would like the name, address, and social security number of this beautiful but "redundant" (HER WORDS NOT MINE) lookalike portrait. She is sharpening her knives. I, on the other hand, love your drawing! :) Congrats to Genejoke and usedbooks! Wow, what accomplishments. I am currently in the works of this exciting new FASHION element to Drunk Duck. I think after seeing the gowns at the Drunk Duck Awards this year it just made sense that it's time to put some current trends, nostalgic looks and and creative whimsy to the group in the form of an exciting Fashion Show and Contest! I thank Ozoneocean for his fantastic idea and Kawaidaigakusei for approaching me about this. We are all really excited and seeing expected interest from KimLuster and Irsonscarf make it even sweeter. I can expect fallopiancrusader will be on board as he designed my gowns for the DRUNK DUCK Awards and how cute would Modest Medusa be in her fashions!!!

Wow... I'm so impressed with long running comics like Used Books, Deadfingers, Grin -n- Spirit... It's just incredible!! (your accomplishment is notable too, Genejoke! ;)) Fashion show, eh!? Fashion is my Achilles' heel! Never been able to keep up with it in RL, never portrayed it very well in art... but I will certainly volunteer for this!! And I say that straight, simple, and with a smile!!

Ironscarf at 2:56AM, Feb. 23, 2015

Saying it straight and simple is good, I often struggle with that. Smile is not always appropriate, if you're telling someone they've got six months to live for instance. On the other hand, the smile might be help to soften the blow. Curious to see what form the fashion challenge finally takes.

1200 pages is way too much. She's putting the rest of us to shame... I did enjoy my weekend quite a bit, I had a few boring birthday parties, and I had a lot of work to do, but I had an amazing conversation that really made my week.

Genejoke at 1:36AM, Feb. 23, 2015

ME: Look, I did a hundred pages YAY! USED BOOKS:YAY! 1200 pages. well now I feel inadequate. ;-)
