This week I wanted to dredge up something from the past and talk about a comic that is effectively dead. Launched in June 2010, rightly featured in October 2010 and last updated with an actual page of content in August 2012. But still one of my favourite comics on the Duck, and one that I wish was finished. Holon.
As an all round package, this comic was and still is a beautiful piece of creative work. Abt_Nihil seemed to bring his absolute best to this comic and nailed it. The story is fantastical and intriguing, and at the same times a little chilling. There is mystery and humour. His artwork, which has always worked better in B)

I love Holon. It should be a graphic novel. I'd back that on Kickstarter.

Thank you! Thank you, Nepath, Kim and Banes for your kind words - they intensify my regret for not having updated Holon in so long! But Heroes Alliance really had nothing to do with it -- it wasn't that I took on too much, but rather that life got "in the way". A lot has happened since 2012, and it never really settled down long enough for me to develop a new kind of comic making routine. But I very much intend for that to happen, and hopefully I can continue my comics sooner than we all expect... Nepath brought me to the duck ten years ago, and perhaps this article of his will also bring me back to the duck... ;)

I always wanted to draw something written by Abt_Nihil and at one point, he was going to write energize, but it was bad timing. I was burnt out and needed to stop. Abt..if you are reading this...we NEED to do a comic together!

Ah, now AD 1997 was where I "met" Abt_Nihil on Smackjeeves. I had Energize on there and was reading AD 1997 (which is brilliant), I wasn't getting any readers at all. Moved to the Duck and got featured. The first thing I did was get on smackjeeves to say to Abt_Nihil, "you need to get your comics here".

You expressed EXACTLY how I feel about Holon!! What a story and what a talent!! But I feel even more strongly about another project of his: AD 1997!! Although he did stop it at a point where you don't feel you hit a wall (got a neat ol' 'To Be Continued' on last page), the last page was Sep, 2010 :(
