LISTEN!
When heroes fail… Hey, why would you ever want a hero to fail? Well there are a lot of reasons and listening to this Quackcast will tell you why, but the quick version is that you don't want your hero to be a perfect Mary-Sue sort of character. Having your hero fail in their goals means you have somewhere interesting to go with your story. Having your hero fail emotionally means you can give them character development and make them more interesting. If you want to learn more then either listen to us or have a look at Tantz's newspost where I took the idea from!
Our music this week from our resident composer Gunwallace is a theme to The World Outside of Time. It evokes a cold, echoing club scene, bleak and icy, with the promise of brief companionship, but not the reality.

Eh, she was a bastard to them, perfectly in character. But not to her niece... That's who did the melting.

Agreed. Unfortunate. But I guess Naomi Watts and kangaroo Ice-T can melt even the most anarchic of hearts.

They gave Tank Girl a heart in her movie. I love the movie, but tG hasn't got a heart either.

Zaptoid56- hahaha! We haven't got the money! But Gunwallace does do old style stuff occasionally.
Ozoneocean at 6:13PM, March 14, 2017
Thanks cdmalcolm1! It was Tantz's idea. With my characters, I just like to punish them, through obstacles in their way and see how they deal with it.

I'm thinking featured music should start being old school...first up..Incense and Peppermints by the Strawberry Alarm Clock..

That is so true. As a writer, setting up challenges for characters helps shape them. Good or bad. Not everyone can be like One Punch and just get bored for being so powerful...BUT even he had challenges to face by not being the smartest hero and was placed as a "C" rank hero when he scored low in academics. his constant short comings in the series made him borderline bad guy. As powerful my Character SolarCell is, parts of her memory was permanently destroyed forcing her to relearn how to control her powers in a new universe under the watchful eye of the leaders of Heroes Alliance. Before her memory lose, she was a Super Villain with the ability to fully control her powers at full capacity. NOW, she is remains unstable plus not remembering her once evil ways. So her failures steam from not being able to control her powers the way Bombshell needs her be and only having memories going as far back to waking up in the arms of Wireless in a crater. This article is on the nose. ;)
