It's the New Year!

It's 2022! Can you believe it?

WE SURVIVED!

Here's to more surviving for 2022, and hopefully, down the line, we can start living!

There's a tradition of making lists of new year's resolutions every season when the year changes. And I'm not going to tell you not to do it. But what I will suggest is to be kind to yourself. Don't make huge lists of things that will put a burden on yourself in an already trying time like this.

Update every week?
Regular updates?
Start a new comic?
Finish your current comic?
Wake up early?
Take a new job?

All of these are great goals, but …at this time they are secondary. What should come first is your mental well being and conserving of your energy.

Instead of setting up a goal of updating every X amount of time, just tell yourself you will draw a little every day- even if it is just for 5 minutes. Don't demand of yourself that you finish your comic. Just tell yourself you'll draw more than last year. And so on.

Baby steps is the way to cover a longer distance than if you start with a sprint. We are all dealing with more stressors than humans should endure, two years into a pandemic, having just come out (or not come out yet) of a financial crisis and recession of ten years, living in insecurity and ‘flexible work’, and looking forward to an uncertain future.

So, to mitigate it all, and build yourself up to handling it, just tell yourself you'll take baby steps towards your ultimate goal. And that's more than enough.

Happy new year! Here's to a productive 2022 but above all, one of progress, health, and better days.

Happy new year to all. So this the future I read about in the year 2000. A plague, Ppl wearing a mask, parents protecting their children called domestic terrorist, ppl working from home. Gas prices too high. Electric cars that drives themselves, space junk beats satellite 1000 to 1. Some homes and commercial buildings now have Solar voltaic panels. Almost Everyone have a smart phone and/or TV. Kids no longer play outside. There is an app for just about everything for your smart device to control. No more privacy. Drones. Almost everything we know is now e-this, or smart that. Most ppl that drive can’t live without GPS. Not for nothing, this sounds like a comic book I’ve read or a movie I saw. My my my things have changed. Here’s to a new crazy year. Cheers Ducks!

2022? I remember when 2003 was 20 years in the future and it seemed so far far away.
