When our jobs are shown in fiction they usually get it wrong. We talk about HOW they get it wrong here… Pit tells us all how she's basically Indiana Jones and Lara Croft rolled into one LOL! …or the opposite of that, I can't remember. How does YOUR job differ from what they show in movies and TV?

Is the woman on the left the Officer Jenny from the Detective Pikachu film?

Reminds me of how military officers are depicted... we all know how high ranking officers act in fiction (especially American ones who always recommend nuking things to the president), but how close is that to reality? They're usually crazy warmongers... "The Chieftain" on youtube talks about the sort of things that US officers need to know and what their jobs entail and it's interesting. Very different from fiction- ie officers about a Captain level are more administrative and don't lead men.

@hushicho True. The more realistic depictions aren't as exciting, but they're good for a different kind of fiction :)

It's often amusing how drastically fiction does kind of fluff job descriptions, but it's also worth mentioning that most jobs would likely be pretty boring to watch or read about if they were just like they tend to be. Exceptional circumstances and exceptional people in these positions are usually what keep people's attention. I can't imagine a series about, say, a janitor who never really faces any significant problems in his day-to-day duties being super-compelling.

Hahaha! "Distribution" sounds pretty open :D

I work in the distribution industry and the one thingy they get wrong is the stereotype of some dude, (never a woman) talking like he is from New York or New Jersey with a borderline Mobster ties to everything that goes wrong “Down by the Docks”. He never has a clue until he says, “Come to thing of it.....” Then all of a sudden they just remembered
