Marvel Comics is hitting comic book store bookshelves this Wednesday with its most recent issue of X-Men Legends (#7). The issue brings back fan favorites, Jubilation “Jubilee” Lee and James “Logan” Howlett (aka Wolverine), in an adventure that travels all the way to Japan with promises of run-ins with Lady Deathstrike and The Hand.

An orphan from Beverly Hills, Jubilee, was first introduced in issue #244 of the Uncanny X-Men by Chris Claremont and Marc Silvestri. Jubilee and Wolverine made their first onscreen appearances during the X-Men animated TV series, Episode One: Night of the Sentinels (October 1992). The friendship between Jubilee and Wolverine mirrors a sidekick and a father-figure role and has stayed platonic from the start. Wolverine has had other younger sidekicks before, but this pairing sticks because Wolverine gives Jubilee experience and confidence, while Jubilee keeps Logan connected to his humanity.

The story was written by the great Larry Hama and Billy Tan created the art. Rated Teen+, $3.99. Release date: Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Neat! Of the many cool things about Wolverine, his connection to Japan was always an interesting/unexpected flavor.

X-Men Legends looks like original characters in a non-canon storyline.

Is this a reboot or new story of the same characters of the original?
