Episode 150 - Just No Point, It's All In a Name
Jan 20, 2014
This week we have on JustNoPoint! He was one of the brave souls that helped get DrunkDuck back on its feet again after so long being down! JNP tells us about his millennia spanning comic project focussing on the Devon family, he also tells us about how it was to get DD up and running again and what he'll be doing for us all here, and lastly he tells us about the trails of doing the DD awards in the past and how he kept that going for so very long! JNP is an interesting man with a lot of talent and a great accent!
Episode 146 - The SantaCast!
Dec 16, 2013
It's that time of year again, when we do all our traditional celebration stuff and get silly about Santa, Father Christmas, Saint Nick, Papai Noel, Viejo Pascuero, Dun Che Lao Ren, Kerstman, Joulupukki, Weihnachtsmann, Mikulas, Babbo Natale, Hoteiosho, Julenissen, Swiety Mikolaj, Ded Moroz, Jultomten... Hanukkah has been, Winter Solstice is coming up, then Christmas, then Kwanzaa, then the best party of the year: New Years!!! Hooray! For this Quackcast Banes Interviews the jolly bearded man in the red suit, Christmas comics are discussed, Secret Santa comics, and finally the The 2013 DD Radio Play!
Episode 136 - The Tantzcast
Aug 5, 2013
Quackcast 136 is hosted by the fine femme fatale Tantz Aerine with her amazingly attractive Greek accent! Tantz interviews Basil and Fotis, two characters from her comic; Without Moonlight. Without Moonlight is set during World War II, in Greece in the city of Athens under German occupation. We learn about with the population do to try and resist and survive in those terrible times and about some of the horrible things the occupying forces did. But we also see the heroism, the bravery and the good humour under stress shown by Fotis and his redoubtable groups of comrades. It's a fun, terrifying and exciting story about this very unique perspective on WWII. READ - http://www.drunkduck.com/Without_Moonlight/
Episode 123 - Happy Birthday Mr Abt Nihil
Apr 29, 2013
This week we interview Leonardo Da Abt Nihil, The Duck's very own renaissance man: Philosopher, scientist, self taught artist and writer, he is a man of many talents and lucky for us he posts the fruits of his labour on our site, many of which have been featured! Abt kindly agreed to be interviewed on his birthday, so Banes and I were finally have to do an in-depth talk with him and find out some of what makes him tick and at the same time celebrate that special day with him. So please listen and enjoy the melefluent tones of Abt's amazing voice and then GO and read some of his comics, especially Bombshell and Holon!
Quackcast 119 - Kevin Kota's World Hayman
Apr 1, 2013
Owen Wilson. Owen Wilson. Owen Wilson: Kevin Hayman IS Owen Wilson, only better looking and twice as talented. Listen find out for yourself. Kevin is a really interesting guy, he's been doing webcomics since they were a thing. His Kota's World ran from 2000-2005 (and a bit before that), it was one of the first comics on the old days of Drunk Duck! He's since moved on from that, now drawing both the very popular Errant Apprentice and the new reinvented version of Kota's World "Mailbox Rocketship", as well as working hard as the co-host of the great pop-culture focussed podcast DTWC (drawing the wrong conclusions), which is the successor to The Gigcast, which was the old unofficial podcast for Drunk Duck back in the day. Lots of history here people. History and talent! Kevin is an amazing guy and hard to contain within a single broadcast so next week we'll have part two of our little chat, as soon as I edit out all the swearing an salacious gossip (I am not joking).
Episode 102 - Banes and Ozone's Bogus Journey
Nov 5, 2012
For Quackcast 101 and 102 now and the coming of Halloween Banes and I returned to the theme of horror, opening the subject up to contributions from the community! We start off with a tale of horror and fear from the cold, white frozen north... And then diving back into the subject of horror pop-culture, delving into many other interesting sidetracks along the way like people with weird eyes and other standard horror techniques. Again Banes was our editor and musician, outdoing himself masterfully with his SFX and amazing horror music... This week, staring Ozombieocean, Ghoulmunkee and Pains!
Episode 100 - Ah needs mah stories
Oct 22, 2012
In Quackcast 100 we open up the influential stories topic to the community! Our Duckers let us know what stories have made the biggest impact on them as creators and comicers. Banes and I read them out in hilarious voices with lots of laughing at our own jokes... but don't let that take you away from the clever stuff people have written! There's a lot of very interesting things to gain from their reading experiences. And because this is number 100 we celebrate with a reprise of Banes' lovely Dylanesque performance of Gunwallace's Dungeon song!
