Episode 99 - Halloween's a Commin!

Oct 15, 2012

This week Banes and I are once again joined by the two lovely and talented comic creators Tantz Aerine and Pit Face. They share with us their thoughts on the upcoming phenomena of Halloween it's impact on and traditional place in web-comics annually, beasties and monsters associated with it and monsters in general, fears and nasties, superstitions and all sorts of fun stuff. Listen as we have a rollicking good time together in our own informative way.

Brilliantly caught kawaiidaigakusei and Gullas!

Yes, Gullas has to be correct. The term "Queen of Iceland was used to refer to Skool in Quackcast episode 79!

gullas at 1:06PM, Oct. 18, 2012

Skool is the queen of iceland. There was this page in Mystery Bread by Niccea and Ochisukani that included most of the regular drunk duck mafia players, characters and/or avatars. That was prolly the biggest corssover/cameo page I've seen on DD besides that crossover comics (Heroes Unite, Crossoverkill etc...)

Yes! Mean girls! I saw that the other day for the first time. Funny how Lindsy Lohan has become that character in real life... Anyway, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!^_^

In addition, I believe it was the film, Mean Girls (2004), that set the trend that during Halloween only the "hard-core girls just wear lingerie and some form of animal ears."

Wow! This was the perfect group to chat on about this subject. It was also a very appropriate subject to listen to after MIDNIGHT. I must admit, I have at least 20 Quackcasts saved on my portable music player that I listen to whenever I am outside riding buses/trains/doing laundry and many of the segments make me laugh out loud in public! This is definitely going to be on my current playlist because it was HILARIOUS. I mean, where else would you hear that a Jackalope is a monster or the phrase "Scary Canada" within the same sentence? It was also good to hear about the fears other people have because after posting in the forums, I was worried that it came off as if I had serious neurosis, but after listening to this, it appears that it is pretty common. Maybe, more common amongst people who create webcomics because we are more visually stimulated and have wild imaginations. Also, oh my goodness, Wolf Creek was super creepy.

Tantz_Aerine at 8:23AM, Oct. 16, 2012

Eh it was our past fears. Nobody mentioned current ones. I hope. XD

PIT_FACE at 7:31AM, Oct. 16, 2012

maybe we should accompany it with where we live and the best time of the day to find us.

PIT_FACE at 7:31AM, Oct. 16, 2012
