SS7 24 Making sense of common scents

The story so far: Sarah split up with Janey after she discovered her having an affair, she then began a new relationship with rich girl Lucy who believed her previous partner Laura had ‘died’ from a Gran Mal seizure although it later transpired that Lucy's parents had conspired to keep the girls apart and put Laura out of the picture for their own personal reasons.
However having moved in with Lucy at Carlingford Hall Sarah started having strange dreams which she at first believed were possibly some kind of contact with the ‘deceased’ Laura but she also became aware of the legend of the Carlingford Curse which involved the ghost of a gypsy woman
named Lenore, whose husband and child had been murdered on the same land by a previous owner of Carlingford Hall.
According to legend the previous owner used a witch bottle to protect himself from the vengeful Lenore but Sarah now believes a similar bottle was used to keep the spirits of Lenore and her daughter apart too.
Most people think Sarah is daft including her new partner Lucy but her ex-partner Janey is the only one willing to support her and help Sarah in her quest to find the missing bottle.
We're back again at last and I know it's been a while so I thought I should give a quick recap for those of you who probably need it! Becky's health has taken a bit of a down turn again lately and this comic will certainly miss her lovely colouring if she has to stop but for now she's still happy to continue and I know I'm not alone in saying how much we all appreciate that. :)
Next week: Sarah explains how she believes Laura was the catalyst in bringing Lenore's tormented spirit to the surface again!

Nice to se you back Sky. Very sorry to hear about Beck's ill-health. I wish her all the best, and thank you to her for her efforts in colouring. Nice strip & nicely coloured and an interesting commentary as well . . . so all Sarah's friends think this a wild goose chase, except (apparently) her newly single ex-girlfriend? Hmmm . . . Anyway it's nice to see Sarah & Janey getting methodical on this, staking out a designated area to be thoroughly searched. Will this approach pay-off? We shall see.

DV: Your response to Fruitbat's post touches on the very heart of this final chapter which is the answer to two question 'Why is Janey helping Sarah?' As the chapter progresses we'll see it's a question that will start to bug Sarah more and more :)

Fruitbat: Thanks :) Becky now has a portable oxygen supply she has to carry around with her, I'm not sure if that's all the time but certainly when she's out of the house so hopefully that helps a lot. As for the story, yea both Nikki and Lucy who are no doubt the next closest friends Sarah has, both think she's potty but Janey certainly seems pretty hooked on the idea unless of course she's just trying to win Sarah back. ;)

Don't believe Janey has any romantic ulterior motives, just, she needed to get away from Scotland and, for that has happened between her and Sarah (in spite of? despite of? o_O) she knows Sarah isn't a kook: if she says there is something strange going on, her first call was to Doctor Egon Spengler (butt that line was disconnected :( ) so she hopped a train south :D

Wait, they _are_ aware that Ouija boards started out simply as a family boardgame in the 50's or 60's, right? o_O

DV: Very good point! Spiritualism though was around long before the board and seances etc were a very popular pastime with people who desperately wanted to communicate with lost family members. The original idea of a talking board came about as an easier tool to help these people do that but it wasn't until the Kennard toy company mass produced it as the Ouija board game we know today that it really became famous. Thing is though, whatever Laura did that night has Sarah convinced she did make contact with the dead. :)

Probably speaking just for me, butt would rather an extended break than for Becky to make herself worse (don't push yourself too hard, leave the burnouts on the road :P )

DV: I'm sure she will appreciate that thought which I've also reminded her of a few times while she's been working with me. Enthusiastic as I am about the comic I can't expect that from anyone else involved. :)

Yes, we appreciate it. It was ill health that got me into this lark, in the first place, but when it gets worse it grinds to a halt. Judging from some threads and comments (mostly on Fury, as the forums here on the Duck are almost tumbleweed country, these days), comics creators, between us all, have a considerable level of assorted sufferers, mental, physical, angst,... !

Bear: I know. I've been very lucky with my health so the only thing that really slows me down on the comic is my frame of mind. When doing the comic starts to feel like too much hard work and easier things seem more exciting it can be hard to remain motivated and I'm sure all comic creators go through these patches themselves but to have health issues too really does take a lot of motivation so I admire Becky for remaining as driven on this comic as she is.
