I actually wrote this one just to fill out the submission. Honestly, if I were gonna start doing Slacks again (unlikely) I'd probably throw out the Cindy Pluck character. As the strip went along she rarely came in handy as a character.

would you have to throw her out entirely, though? I suppose by the sound of it, you weren't really writing many strips that actually involved her, but she works kind of well in this situation - unseen but still an object of Scott's fascination. There's always been quite a bit of humour made from Scott's inabilty to get with the ladies, and Cindy acts as a sort of representation of that... But then again, it's just as easy to do that with a girl just introduced as needed, rather than having a permanent one.

She could have functioned as the girl that he knows as a friend, but she secretly has a crush on him, even as he describes his fascination with another gal. I know... it's a cliche ^^ This way works even better than that though, she just doesn't care one way or another. I like that.
