About
Shawn Padraic Murphy (i.e., me) is the creator and writer of Mechanaflux. I created Mechanaflux as a screenplay many years ago for a screenwriting class. However, it was stored on my PC and forgotten for years, until I digitally dusted it off and began editing and adapting it for comics. Now, Mechanical is a twice-a-week web comic I hope will reach the world, all ages young and small.

Cory, Arad, & Jackson are three ordinary earth children who find themselves in the fantasy world of Flux. There, they meet Maria, the sword-fighting princess, Darius, the last sorceress, Gluss, the centaur general, and Redwing, a near-sighted dragon. Together, they must stop Gaudra, a living mechanical creature, before the entire world is converted into metal.
Only one thing can stop Gaudra; a powerful amulet that can only be used by Cory and Maria. However, to use this amulet requires positive emotional control. Cory must overcome his intense hatred toward his abusive stepfather, while Maria must overcome her irrational hatred of everything machine, otherwise the entire realm will become a metallic wasteland.

Wesleyan World follows the naive Shawn as he enters college and the semi-realistic events that occur to him. The strip is loosely based on my life at college and each character is a person in real life.
