This is gonna be a crazy issue, inspired by my usual madness. For a little bit of an idea, the theme music for this issue is Paparazzi by Lady Gaga: http://grooveshark.com/s/Paparazzi/2H2LA6?src=5

HEY!! By the way! John McDowell, creator of the comic Infinity Burger here on Drunk Duck and I have been working on a special project! It goes live on Monday, because he's so excited about it he can't wait anymore. Talk about universal themes! This touching and poignant 5 page story is titled, “Delbort, Go Home”. Written by John McDowell, illustrated by Yours Truly. Go take a look: http://www.drunkduck.com/Infinity_Burger/
Dear HoM, Even if the work is in the public domain or hie descendants sold something to Disney, I still think they should give ERB credit. If only to get new people interested in ERB's other work. I also have the feeling most people under the age of thirty five (a prime market)would not know who wrote Tarzan. It's sad that ownership is deemed more important than authorship. Money can not buy brains or creativity. On a lighter note, Tara can kick ass while "She's Got Legs" by ZZ Top plays in backround:) tammy
Besides, I think the work is now in public domain, and Disney has bought a portion of rights from his descendants for this film. Not entirely sure about the details, but I'd say that has something to do with it. Not only that, most everyone knows it's ERB behind the story, so it's not like anyone is claiming authorship...only ownership.
That's because, my dear, ERB signed over the rights to his stories a long time ago. Never do this, budding writers! I wrote articles on this topic back in December. Scroll down and begin with the article Who Is John Carter? http://houseofthemuses.com/adeviantmind?s=Burroughs
Dear HoM,I like Lady Gaga along with Madonna, Britney and all the other female singers. Speaking of John Carter. I have yet to see any mention what-so-ever of Edgar Rice Burroughs!I would think the studios PR people would add "based on the book by..." in the ads/trailers. Hope Taras secret will overthrow the rulers on that primative planet we know so well:) tammy
I like Gaga. I would have used Kashmir by Zeppelin, Jamie, but it's already been taken and rescored for the John Carter movie that I am soooo hot to see next weekend. I think Sabbath would be a good opener for an upcoming episode. Let's see what I come up with.
Can't wait to the developments in this issue. My wife loves Lady Gaga, btw. She even has my little guy hooked on her. My son thinks every female singer he hears now is 'La-ee G-GA'!

Yeah, the TV reporter on page 2 turned out looking like Chris Cuomo...with a bad sunburn. It was an accident, really.
