When I first had volume 2 printed, it had a major issue: every page's tone? Colour? was inverted (like what you're seeing for today's page). I thought “That is a sweet visual effect, but I can't have volume 2 like this.” Eventually volume 2 was fixed, but I decided to purposefully use the visual effect later on and here we are.

And the effect works great. The perfect atmosphere for thinking gloomy thoughts under a blanket. ;)

@jamoecw: She's talking about killing Angela (see chapter 10 page 12). It's an artistic method to differentiate them, although it should be noted that it is still her. Like the Shadow and Persona discussed in Jungian psychology.

so the dark half should have killed the not so dark half? maybe it wasn't as easy as the dark half thinks it would have been. nice effect, though i wonder at the difference in clothing, are they different due to paths not taken, or just an artistic method of differentiating them?
