@El Cid; Well, essentially the group being very lightly mocked here tend to lean (politically at least) to the right. Think of it less as a political satire and more of a poke at knee-jerk-reactionary media. The Daily Mail in particular is known for its obsession with medical pandemics and the impact of people from overseas.

Wow, that wasn't overkill, at all! I always get confused reading about overseas politics. I thought "liberal" over there means the same thing as "fiscal conservative" does here, but from the context it looks like that's not the case?
