If Vlad weren't caught by surprise, he could point out that he was basing his statement in the movies, since book!Mycroft was considerably less awkward than the recent Hollywood version. //…and that would be even worse for his “I-don't-care” reputation, actually. //This small section of Bram's house turned out better than I thought. Yes, he lives in a pretty big house, almost a mansion. How a family that's always in the verge of debt managed to buy a house this big? It's haunted, of course. Maarten Van Helsing (Bram's great-grandfather) got it almost for free, after three owners died in a row. The ghosts didn't stand a chance, of course, and the Van Helsings managed to live next to the Harkers (who were rich at this point and bought their ghost-free house for its market place). //It's a view of the side of the house. There IS a wall separating the Harkers from the Van Helsings, but I didn't put it here because perspective. I suck at it.
