Vlad's first hunt 4

Bold words for a child, Bram.
In case you are wondering, taking down the Count is something that Bram's family is trying to do for three generations at least. It's not simple, it's politically delicate and it can spark a destructive war with no winners. Our little redhead will need a lot more than bold words.

@strixvanallen Thanks. I'd forgotten that titbit. So basically since the first Count went into hiding, his son took over and, since he is a jerk, the Van Helsing family has opposed him all this time?

Exactly!

I'm confused, maybe I missed something: 3 generations? I though the Count at one point became friends with the original Van Helsing (with the whole faking his own death arc and so on). Did something change? Is this count a different one, descending from the first? If so, why isn't the elder Count the master of the family, "controlling anyone with the blood of the Draculas"? Or did the original Count take a level in Jerkass?

I actually showed it in the first strip ever: when he first meets Bram, Vlad says that he is the *grandson* of the original Count. (Also, here: http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Bram_and_Vlad/5539521/) Vlad's father is the jerk. Now, the elder one is alive? Yes, but in secret. Everyone (outside Bram's family and friends) thinks he is dead, and that's why Vlad's father hold the title now. The question now is: is Vlad I the master of the family yet? Well, no. Not anymore. There were... complications. I'll deal with them somewhere in the future. ;)

Killing a vampire and trying to make it look like an accident would be both stupid and hilarious! ... Hunter: "He feel on the stake, I swear!", Vampire: "Fifteen times?!", Hunter: "HE WAS CLUMSY!!"

I'm pretty sure that the Third daydreams with this. xD

That actually makes this entire comic make a lot more sense. Not that it was having significant suspension of belief problems before, because even the premise is about par-for-the-course for stories, but this comic takes "nothing that isn't easily ignored" to "wait, what? That was a plot point! I thought that was just part of suspension of belief, like there being vampires & vampire hunters!"

I'm so glad that this is the case, because this was my intention. :)
