I had a whooole rant here this morning, but I lost it in the many attempts to update this page today >_< it was mostly about me changing the backgrounds and complaining about artists that are better than me saying their work “sucks” (which is mighty frustrating lemme tell you, and smacks of passive boasting to me)
And to the folks in the DD forums: SEE! See! The top spot isn't static, and I am very happy to see that another comic is in #1 after so long. I owe somebody some fan art methinks… hopefully people will stop this nonsense thinking I pay off people to be in the top list, eh? Hopefully. Congratulations ozoneocean!
Our guests today are Puff the Zombie, appearing because I've owed dear Puff some fan art for like for-ever now (and because her comic totally rocks)and you should read The Cure The cat girl shooting Fay a jealous glare is none other than Silver Wolf's character Kai, from the comic Develles, whom I've been waiting for this particular moment to put into the comic ^_^ (She likes Hexavier)
Amelius, I love you dearly for this, and you have my full permission to use Kai again at any time. (I doubt you would, you have plenty of your own brainchildren to run about, but still, the thought is there).
At the same time, one tiny issue. Kai is a wolf half-demon, not a cat.

Haha, I do not think that you or many other people who say that realise that the art I was complaining about was old by the time I was updating it, and therefore fair game for me to disparage since my level of skill at the time was much better than what I had produced in the past. In other words, I was uploading the lost archives en masse and realizing how awful they looked while I was blinded by affection during their production...I drew much better in Middle school than what congests the early half of my archives! My art is not crap, my old art however is, and is truly embarrassing at points. I could post a comparison of things I drew around the same time or earlier and I'm certain you'd have to agree that I just wasn't trying hard enough in the past! So no, I'm not whining about my art, I'm whining about my OLD art ^_^

Excellent question, Anonymous poster! There is an actual reason for such confusion.
Hexavier himself isn't really that powerful without his pendant, however he is being a little flirty with the fairy femme here. Knowing fairy behavior in this comic, it is wise to exercise caution regarding your magical artifacts, as they are wont to try and take them from you if they think they can.
Also, the problem determining age here happens to be that she is a fay creature, and used to kids looking like kids and so on (although fairy "children" may age at a slower rate than humans) also, it may be that since Hex is a zombie and not quite a demon, she is unsure what to make of him. If not for his pendant she would not find anything remarkable about him. While he does have a magical aura about him that keeps him alive, beyond his healing powers Hex is about as strong as the average 9 year old is.
Basically, Fay creatures are in a separate group than with demons and do not understand that sometimes a book is quite different from its cover. Also, she may be just talking down to him a bit by calling him a "little boy". In a way, fay creatures are a little xenophobic when it comes to different creatures like the demons, orycalopes, and vampires (not to mention a myriad of other night creatures) and tend to not associate themselves with them. A party like Samrick's is a rare occasion that they meet on a grander scale, as opposed to cordoning themselves off to concentrated areas of Kellwood's forests. Otherwise, they meet briefly in the marketplace.
Also another point is that most demons can have children that will grow into adult demons, even the pure vampires in this case such as Rodericke, so an "old" child vampire like Charby who isn't pure-blood is almost unheard of and particularly frowned upon, as child vampires become somewhat troublesome to deal with for many reasons.
I guess a good analogy would be like walking into a room and by sight alone, picking out the person in the room who dislikes cheese.

I find it really odd how demons aren't more open-minded. I mean, it's clear in your mythos that supernatural creatures come in a wild variety of shapes and sizes. Why would it be hard to believe that childlike creatures may be more than their appearance would suggest? In a gathering like that, anything can be anything. So why don't more demonic creatures accept that the "little ones" might in fact have profound powers? Look at Samrick!
I've noticed the same think. All artists who are any good think their work sucks. People who can draw ten times better than me think their work sucks. I Think my work sucks, but that's just because it does suck. People apparently seem to like it, which is fine, I just wish my art didn't suck to much.
In other words, it's not just you. It's an artist thing..
