Fairy Persistent

Despite what it looks like because of the font, her guard's named Ilex, not hex! (Like Alex with an i)
A story-thread recap for those who are lost!
K'ale was arrested at Samrick's party for freaking out over a Lemuro-tail boa, which turned out to be his father's tail. He exsanguinated a lot of people out of rage, but Arista, Samrick's assistant who is apparently a Lemuro not from K'ale's tribe, was able to get close enough to take him down. He was tossed in Samrick's prison, but became friends with Arista (the Lemuro girlfriend referred to on this page) who felt sympathy for K'ale and curiosity about Lemuro (which she had no idea she was one).

Meanwhile, a bidding war for custody of K'ale begins. Many patrons at the party who lost a loved one want the right to kill K'ale personally, while others see an opportunity to get a rare Lemuro which are hot on the market for their magic tails. Rodericke the vampire king had been especially interested in purchasing pelts until he realized a living Lemuro's magic is far stronger, so as the skzzledrix that Sadick gut-shot and K'ale shredded apart said, he is interested in live specimins these days and pays double the regular asking price.

Sadick and Labelle come to visit K'ale and post his bail using the gold that they acquired from the dead Skzzldrix. While there, Sadick confronts him about his murder-spree and he explains to them what happened, and gives his father's tail to his little brother Bojo.
They are interrupted by Arista who opens the cell door to free him, only for the group to discover that he has been purchased by Fairy Princess Ervaine. (She was at the party and witnessed his power firsthand) She tells him he will be doing some diplomatic work, and bringing along Sadick and LaBelle is out of the question but when she spots Bojo, she says he is allowed to go. K'ale leaves Bojo in LaBelle's care since Ervaine previously mentioned he didn't need “family” (as in, those that aren't Lemuro) distracting him, at LaBelle's insistence. K'ale will see him when he is done working for the fairies…

Ervaine and K'ale head to the Demon Market as Sadick and LaBelle head North on foot toward the cabin to find Fay. They are waylaid by some Skzzldrix and Welfs, the former being relatives/associates of the skzzldrix Sadick and K'ale murdered (and are currently living in their outpost) and the latter two surviving members of the bad Welf gang that K'ale and Sadick rescued LaBelle from. These two “wronged” groups teamed up for revenge and to take back Rodericke's gold as well as take Bojo, but their plans are thwarted when LaBelle uses the curse that Kavonn gave her at the party to Hulk-out and wrecks their crap until she is shot, and then stabbed in the back by one of the Skzzldrix. As LaBelle lays mortally wounded, her curse is lifted, shocking Sadick when he sees she is no longer a hairy Welf…

Meanwhile, K'ale is getting carted around the Demon Market and forced to wear human clothes (both are things he hates, humans AND too much clothes!) and that brings us to here, where they are finally on the road after Ervaine has dressed up her doll. She's trying to get in the pants she just bought for him but he's completely disinterested in that. She was hoping to distract him wish sexy-times so he wouldn't start recognizing the landscape and come to the realization that he's not going to the Fairy Kingdom (which is in the South) but she didn't count on him possibly being asexual (which he is) and fairly immune to her solicitations. To Ervaine this is inconceivable! (Fairies are very impulsive and indulge any desire or whim and find the beings that don't to be incredible prudes or have something wrong with them!)
Also I pointed out on the other site that he'd use the sun to orient himself, but the storm is rolling into the forest and the skies are overcast. Aside from that, they are on the Fairy Path, which is basically a magical highway, and since access to this path is restricted, it wasn't until he spotted a river he grew up near that he realized what was up.

Hope that helps to clarify this particular story thread!
