@Coydog: yeah I can buy that! I mean, if we can suspend disbelief so as to enjoy a tale about sentient, civilized mice, it's not much more of a stretch to accept that said mice have learned how to deal with larger denizens of their world :)
NEWS! Though we've been stuck the last few days trying to get the covers for the new Chevalier books out of setup/pre-media over at our new POD service and get them out, the ebook version of the new book "Chevalier the Queen's Mouseketeer: For Queen and Country" just came out on Barnes&Noble:

Amazon, itunes, kobo, etc, are sure to follow quickly. We'll let you know as they do.
Monique and I are hoping to turn summer 2014 into the year of the mouse. LOL!

Well, that mouse-sized sword is a normal-sized KNIFE by conventional standards, and speed, surprise and aggression can make up for a lot, as well as knowing how to use your opponent's own physics against them. Chev's people may already be intimately acquainted with the reality of fending off larger threats like cats, dogs, hawks, foxes and other larger predators. Taking on a human, especially a buffoon like this one, may not be such a large step. That's what happens when you get overconfident and put a fool on the dog watch.

It's not the size of your "sword" it's how you use it. ;D Dee - Chev writer dude
