In today's update Captain Perfect shows that he has a gift for putting people in their place… with the power of words! No one would be brash enough to attempt to talk down (and talk down to) a raging Valkyrie… but alpha male Perfect is. A lot of this comes from the heart though - Perfect is recalling here his brother Super Dan from the Captain's home comic, Red Death's Bad Guy High. Super Dan has gone evil once or twice!
Mindmistress has previously had dealings with Super Dan during one of his not so evil phases in a Crossoverlord spin-off comic - Bad Guy High Adventures, also by Red Death. So it's highly likely she's putting 2 and 2 together here.
One more page from me and that's coming up on Thursday. Can Perfect close the deal or will he lose his spleen after all?
it took me a while to get use to xmug style but now I enjoy it a lot, anyway why they need to escape just take over Glass head mothership and use it to get rid of his fleet
Stephen's got a subtlety to his art that I really enjoy. For one, I'm digging the parenthetical facial expressions. For example, Yuuki's WTF/annoyed face in the first panel is hysterical.
And in the last panel, Mindmistress has a facial expression that I've come to refer to as simply "...'k." It's my favorite serious character reaction to silliness going on elsewhere in the scene.
looks like someone is going to have to save captain perfect. though since her eyes aren't red anymore suki doesn't have to worry about red tentacles sucking her power away. i am glad i for one am not an anime girl, they must have all kinds of problems, wind always blowing them, tentacles, sort skirt uniforms...
Love Perfect and Suki in that last panel. I also like the wall detail in the last panel--those vertical thingamajigs on the wall remind me of similar details on the Death Star. Another killer page, xmung!
Now that was an alternate and highly risky way of stopping a raging Valkyrie dead in her tracks... Perfect!
... now lets hope he is not distracted before he calms her completely down, hammer & spleen do not mix well :P
