The “Fwoosh!” in panel three is artistic license, to emphasize movement, a la STAR TREK's opening. Yes, we do know there is no sound in space.
As Essaybee explained to us, Fusion has to maintain a full energy field in space—so if she grabbed Perfect, it would fuse his suit and flesh, not a good idea. Instead, she directed Energize to him, for rescue.

had to go back for the perfect's little move, completely missed it. personally i would have put on a space suit, but maybe there weren't any. 'crazy like a fox' quote comes to mind when i hear mm say that.
