I confess - I'm odd one out. Yeah, he's being very blunt But it's not the first time he's gone thru this. She KNOWS he's like this, he's never promised that he would even try to be different, but because she's cute (OK, Very cute), does that make it acceptable to smother him and expect him to change because that's what she wants? She has to change: either accept, maybe help somehow, or leave.

Jeez, he treats her more like a daughter than a potential partner. Alec is being kind of a dick right now. I realize he has to protect his honor and all that, but he could be a bit less unfeeling about what he's doing to Brooke.
