Happy Saturday, everybody. I apologize for this page being a day late, but I’ve had a lot on my plate. Last evening, my family got together to celebrate my mom’s 89th birthday. She is in great health and doing very well for a lady her age. I am thankful she is still a part of our lives.

I have another reason to be thankful. A few weeks ago, I had a bit of a health scare. A routine physical and blood work detected irregularities with my prostate gland. Since my late father had prostate cancer, my doctor recommended a biopsy. On Wednesday, I was told there was no cancer. While I know prostate cancer is treatable and the survival rate is very high, I was still relieved at the good news.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have bothered you with this, but sometimes we tend to take things for granted. With the holidays fast approaching, this turn of events has made me a bit introspective. I need to open my eyes a bit more to the world around me. There are many things that leave a lot to be desired, but there is just enough good things to make life worth while. I’m going to try to be more focused on the little things that bring me joy.

Okay, maudlin spiel ended. Have a great weekend, a wonderful Thanksgiving,. Spend some time with friends and family. And as always, thanks for reading Danielle Dark.
