You forgot to mention that quadrupedal dragons are much larger (and heavier?) than bipedal dragons. For Wirk to be as tall as Rachel, he'd have to be about twice her size to make up for being quadrupedal. Prop him up on two legs and you'd see what I mean. Or just get down on all fours and notice how your frame of reference is only half as far off the ground as normal.
