Fusion #8 Page 7
EssayBee on Aug. 13, 2013
Here's page 7 of Fusion #8, and X-Ponent makes his triumphant return. For those who've forgotten who X-Ponent is (it has been quite a while since we've seen him), check out the opening scene of Issue #3.
On a different note, rough scripting for Issue #9 has been completed, and it looks like next issue will be 25 pages long as well. I also added a link to the Essay Bee Comics twitter and my DeviantArt account, in case you wanna follow the production of Fusion (and any other comic stuff I might be doing).

Having a non-power is about the same as having no powers. And as we've seen in multiple realities, including this one, powers do not make the hero.

Ozmandious--Thanks! That was actually a last-minute change. The page originally had more generic CRACK/SMACK sound effects, but I changed it to PING PONG because I thought it sounded more comical (which is always good when X-Ponent's involved).
Ozmandious at 8:45PM, Aug. 14, 2013
since no one else has said it yet, nice use of "ping pong"
tupapayon at 5:53AM, Aug. 14, 2013
Xponent surprised me... that was x-cellent...
EssayBee at 5:22AM, Aug. 14, 2013
meemjar--Yep, they're brothers.
meemjar at 1:55AM, Aug. 14, 2013
Just to ask and clarify: Are they actually brothers? If so, it sure is hilarious that the OTHER one is so clean-mouthed as to be more annoying and offensive than his Potty-mouthed sibling!

Great page. Added to da watch ;)
Nero Angelo at 11:26PM, Aug. 13, 2013
well, at least he TRIES. Even if he doesn't have any real powers, that's all that anyone can do
man in black at 3:08PM, Aug. 13, 2013
great page

this is exactly why you have a secret identity, to keep your loved ones from being as insane as you with the whole costume thing. every hero says the pc version of that: "to keep them safe" even if they never say from who.
Phantom64 at 10:37AM, Aug. 13, 2013
X-Ponent is just so adorkable. XD Nice job on the zig-zag of his thrown "trash can lid of justice." XD
Hero at 8:58AM, Aug. 13, 2013
Gosh, I guess he isn't the worst at crimefighting.
Mr Kaos at 7:30AM, Aug. 13, 2013
Young and reckless. I only can guess they do hurt people unwittingly in order to stop the crime. I look forward to see the reason why Brooder avoids them.
EssayBee at 5:40AM, Aug. 13, 2013
mithras131--Brooder's attitude toward X-Ponent should make more sense as that plotline develops.
EssayBee at 5:37AM, Aug. 13, 2013
zgrssd--Yeah, his "power" is a nonpower. Needless to say, the story of Super Team X is an important plotline, so you can expect to learn a lot more about the Dysfunctional Duo.
jesternario at 4:18AM, Aug. 13, 2013
Well, at least he's got good aim...
mithras131 at 12:55AM, Aug. 13, 2013
While one to any power will always be one, it is nice to see that X-Ponent has a good sense of aim. I suppose he isn't necessarily incompetent, though the way Brooder treated him made me think he was, but he certainly still seems quirky and possessed of a singularly inopportune sense of timing.
zgrssd at 12:19AM, Aug. 13, 2013
I know superpowers don't have to make sense, or follow logic, but isn't 1^5 still just 1?
