Here's page 4 of Fusion #14, and it seems Dandy-Lion had an early betrayal by someone very close to him. The Wilde's and their “tight security” (not to mention Savunn's note on the page) may have a bit more context now.

....okay, I expected a twist... that was NOT the twist I expected. Given what's already been shown about their relationship, I have to imagine there's at least one more layer at play here, but I'm not going to try and guess what it is.

Your gut is right. This will be revisited, so you'll have a concrete answer by the end of the issue. However, next page it's back to the present.
