White Blank Page

The power of music is great. I can't tell you how often I've heard a song and been inspired to create something in order to get the pure emotion out of me.
Just the other day I was driving down the road, listening to Mumford and Sons' “White Blank Page,” and this image of Captain Hawke bled into my vision and would not relent.
After a night of drinking with friends, I went to a nearby coffee house and put the image to paper- so vivid was it, that it waited patiently for 4 hours to be drawn. When I realized I had my watercolours, but no water, I used my latte to wet the brush. So, this is technically in “Cafe-Colour” medium.
The lyrics to Mumford and Sons' song, which inspired me:

“Can you lie next to her and give her your heart, your heart?
As well as your body, and can you lie next to her and confess your love, your love?
As well as your folly and can you kneel before the king and say ‘I’m clean, I'm clean.'

But tell me now where was my fault, in loving you with my whole heart?

Her white blank page & a swelling rage, rage
You did not think when you sent me to the brink, the brink
You desired my attention but denied my affections, affections.

But tell me now where was my fault, in loving you with my whole heart.

Lead my to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life.”

I have moved back to my beloved Colorado, and the chaos of my life is slowly sifting down into a manageable day-to-day. With the sudden reminder of my waiting piratical time-traveling crew, I think perhaps it could be the right time to continue the tale of Captain Tjakhlune R. Hawke.

p.s. What happened to Drunk Duck in the year I was gone? Not drunk, but showing all the symptoms of being so… My page html is gone, my buttons, my stats, my membership start date- everything was zeroed out. I'm surprised the comic made the jump!
