UPDATED: Sorry for the delay everyone, but as you can see, the proper page has been posted now. Due to a microburst coming through the area, I wasn't able to access the pages to post them at my usual time, though I suppose it is still Monday, so technically, it's not late…*cough* Anyway, thank you for your patience, and I'm sorry again about that.
This is the final page of the chapter with Elrek reflecting a bit on what he's done.

…sheesh, it would be the 100+ degree weather when the power cut out, though. Ah well, it's back now and it's all good.

An excellent question, as I realized I never really explained in the comic itself why that would be. I was going to type out a lengthy explanation, but I realized there was a much simpler way to explain. Basically, Elrek is not quiet as powerful as Ry, but is far more adept, since his human and leviathan sides have been working as one pretty much since the get-go. It's why he has so many other tricks, while all Ry/phoenix really do is brute force their way through problems.

yay. If the Leviathan so easily noticed the Darkness, why has our Pheonix not? He picked out the Vampire pretty easily, although that would have obviously been a bit stronger signal.
