Okay, now I'm REALLY trying something different with the art here. Different for me, at least. I'm leaving in some pencil and losing the hard borders. . . and this will be going on throughout the chapter. Could you guys let me know what you think is an improvement, and what you think I should go back to doing my old way?
And if you don't know what Will is talking about, just recall that Abbey once left him all lonesome in a village so she could mug drunkards for loose change.

Good for trying new things.. but I do like your old style better personally. I don't know what's going on in the 5th panal. Is it just me but.. Will kinda looks like Neopolean Dynamite in the last panal..

It's nice to see that someone else as well try out something new (thought I think I'm starting to do it too often ^^'). However I really like it how the panels have no lines in this page. It somhow makes the page free. Can't explain it better. However other than that I have nothing special to comment of the changes. I'm pretty ready for almost anything ^_^ And I really liked the colors in the previous page!!

YAY! I thrive on getting comments that make me work on what I'm doing. On lightness: I'm glad it seems like a happier chapter, because this sequence is meant to be absolutely as silly as I can make it. Hmmm, but not fitting with the story as a whole? Hair: Will is a thistle-head when his hair is short. I'm considering having him grow it back out, though, so I have someone with long hair to play with again. That would also result in me doing more hard outlines, which people seem to like. On Will: Yes, he's the son of a Duke (and technically a Duke himself, now). But betting pushed around is just a part of his personality. Oberon: Will's face (when I draw it "right") is always almond shape. After all, he's a nut! Krae: Got it! More panel separation required!
Krae at 6:28PM, June 26, 2006
I really have no right to say anything, but its a tad more odd to follow using this method. The page pretty much has the same color scheme so its kind of odd to read with just tiny little white borders. I like the softer feeling. It's more... happy
Oberon at 6:02PM, June 26, 2006
well, as for anatomy, will's face in the last panel looks kind of like an almond... the food...mmm... almonds... now I'm hungry
Fyrsiel at 4:24PM, June 26, 2006
Hm... Well, I miss the outlines of the hair, but the pencil sketchy strands look a great deal softer and lighter. More like actual hair, I suppose... Although right now, it looks loose... as though the hair could fall apart somehow... That style is more realistic, but I also like the dark outlines from before. Perhaps you can use both techniques interchangeably? The pencil style might work for more serious and dramatic panels, y'know? I like it! xO xD Aw. Y'know, for being a guy of such high stature, Will does get bossed around a lot, don't he?
alejkhan at 1:27PM, June 26, 2006
I kinda like this light pencily style. It seems to fit the more happy, festival like mood, but I don't know that I would use it for the whole story.
AshleeS at 12:12PM, June 26, 2006
I like it, but it's not as good as your normal work. Whatever floats your boat!
ingrid_nini at 11:35AM, June 26, 2006
cool!!
Mina_Lunga at 11:17AM, June 26, 2006
Hmmm. . . okay. Not on the next page, because that's already done, but on the page after that I'll put a more concrete border around the page as a whole. Let me know how that works, Jen. Seems there's a split regarding the insane fluffiness that is Will's hair. Hard outlines vs soft? I'll keep going back and forth and see what works better for people. And ejb - Oh, I am SO holding that extra "'" against you for all time!
Jenshin at 9:51AM, June 26, 2006
I don't like the white and looseness.. When you use watercolors like that it feels like you need something concrete to define your edges with. Woah Will lost the signature Kaj hair! I like it in the top frames, but not so much the last one.. Wow I'm so critical today..
ejb at 9:44AM, June 26, 2006
ummm.. disregard that last apostrophe
ejb at 9:43AM, June 26, 2006
mmm..friskety goodness. I love the Abbey panel. It's awesome. Other page highlights: crouching Will petting Abbey (great posing); the tones and shading on Will's face in the last panel. Dude, my soul is so dark and twisted that it's pondering wearing some dark socks and sandals of it's own.
Throgmorten at 9:34AM, June 26, 2006
Abbey eating a hamburger? Oo I can't see it. XD I like the lineless hair... it's different. It looks puffy. -pets Will- And the lineless panels, is that new as well? -goes back to look-

Cool framework!
iagojester at 7:22AM, June 26, 2006
Whoa, Monkeyfish! I ~like~ it! The simple white line that bleeds into the frame, and the competency- the fullness of each panel seems very different. There is more depth, more tonal variation. And, well... just look at his hair! I'm all chcked up and don't know what to do! This just means I'll have to comment again later when I've thought what implications this has on world peace.

REPLIES to the last page: I'm going to work in as many various characters as I can, but some (like Drake) are just not human enough. (I just noticed that I put one of Tighe's speech bubbles in the wrong font. I'll have to correct that tonight.) Krae: Good suggestion. Think it would really work? Aussie_Kid: I'm trying, but please don't be annoyed if they don't. I don't think I am very good at translating sprites. kaminiari: indeed. taltamir: But on the plus side she'd hardly need a corset! (didn't someone else already point that out?) alakjhan: Fear the Cuteness! Cerise: Oddly enough, my boyo's first suggestion was Trekkie vs. Renfest for this chapter, too ejb: I did it just to erode another fraction of your twisted, darkened soul. Throg o' the morten: Normal: Abbey's passed out and coughing up blood. Strange: Abbey's hugging a puppy and eating a hamburger. Oberon: Yay! I need you around to help me keep my fake anatomy in check. And Photoshop was never meant for drawing. Jenshin: I can hope! I've got PLANS for this chapter! JillyFoo: Actually, I think they may have more problems with the sorta-familiar. Like Engrish signs in foreign countries, or french fries served wtih mayonaise
