There was actually originally text, mountains, and all sorts of things on this page. But then I realized that the only part I cared about was the three soldiers walking away. So that's all I kept.
My brother had a gigantic, completely blank canvass on the wall of his apartment. It had his signature in the far right corner. . . and was proportioned so that he could project movies on it in beautiful wide-screen. Now THAT was art to stare at!
I think it is perfect. The page seems to be emanating some kind of cold heat.
The minimalism works.
As long as you don't give us a completely white page and say it is art, I am fine (I've seen this done. When the Museum of Modern Art was temporarily in Berlin, we went to see it. One of the pieces was a completely white canvas. I don't think it was even white paint on it, it was just the canvas. *THAT* is cheating, I tell you.).

It works... all overpowering light and wavy shadows.
My eye keeps wanting to find a marker as to the edge of the page. It's weird how programmed we are to find certain basic elements to define a page.

Pretty cool so far. The composition style makes be think of Paper 11. I look forward to see how this will turn out.
