At the post office

In case you haven't noticed, all of my little strips are based on actual conversations I've either had or over heard. So YES this has happened.
Seriously, a dead piece of bamboo… I mean, if that was a plant then wouldn't a piece of paper, or a pencil be a plant as well? In reality my mom shouted at this guy for about an hour and in the end we still weren't able to send my beautiful bamboo sword. Very sad story…

Wow how dumb can the airlines be they would actually make more sense if they said it could be consider as a weapon...wow so I guess you can't carry plant seeds or better yet you can walk through security with wooden sandals!!

You're not allowed to send plants? Jeez 0_o

I think it might have something to do with things like bugs. We weren't allowed to buy wooden things on our cruise of the Caribbean because it could have bugs in it or something.

ugh, i hate this. I think mail laws only apply depending on how much of a jerk the guy/girl at the counter decides to be. I would have packed it in a big box with other things and sent it. Screw them.

My brother can't fly on his own for the exact same reason.

it does not surprise me one bit how much people are afraid these days, but give me a break!!! I heard that the Japanese Olympic Ping-Pong team had one hell of a time clearing there paddles through customs... something about the handles being untreated bamboo.... maybe your sword falls in the same category...

But I lawl'd at my computer screen for a good 2 minutes. I agree, I don't see the difference at all. I tried to send a pack of dvd rewritables to my brother in California. They wouldn't accept it because a guy said, "The chemicals in the cds will stick." I have no idea at all what the guy meant... I'm guessing if I put a cd in a microwave, it will melt o.O? Post offices are retarded...
