Page 13: Crossover Melee - The Dogs of War

For the first time ever, we see Fractal out of costume.  Well, in a civilian identity.  I wanted to create something androgynous and not race-specific for the look, and I hope it worked.  The fact is that Fractal needs a civilian identity just to have some peace from time to time.  I don't know why I had the civilian clothes disappear at will, but I guess I just don't want to spend time doing a “suiting up” sequence, expecially when Eiderdown needs immediate help.
Also, you may notice I tweaked Sparkle's look a little.  I'm always trying new things, and I feel this new look could look a little better.  At least I think the chin is an improvement, as she and Astral (in astral form) both looked odd with the previous ones I drew for them.  I was trying to go with a prominent chin for both, but I think I finally realize how to do that.  Plus, I'm getting better at drawing mass on Sparkle, so that's a plus.
But why haven't I just sent the entire group to help Eiderdown?  This is mainly because I want to disperse my characters a bit in the crossover, each having adventures in their own universe.  Keep a look out on for a role-playing thread involving the Swimmer and the Runner (and hopefully a lot of others), which would be made into a comic version later and put in the print version, too.  I may do the same with the Heroes Alliance stuff if the people behind that are receptive to such a thing.
Also, keep an eye out for the Crossover Melee homepage, which I plan to get working on soon, now that I have a little time.  And Fiendish Fellowship and Fiendish Foreshadowing are running on my deviantART until I can figure how to login to Comic Genesis.  Plus, Wonder Team will be running on ComicFury soon.
If you want to be involved in Crossover Melee, please e-mail me at or PQ me on this site (or contact another involved in order to work with them–I am just the one driving the event at the moment, though Escutcheon and Chris V should be entering in not too long).
